STURTEVANT – Mr. Henry J. Tambornino III, 92, passed away at Hospice House – Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie on Friday, July 31, 2026.
Henry was born on June 14, 1934, the son of the late Henry S. and Clara (nee Klawinski) Tambornino, and was raised in Edgar, Wisconsin.
He proudly served his nation with the US Army while stationed in Korea.
Henry married Donna Mae Kissinger at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Altorf, WI on October 25, 1958.
Henry retired from Chrysler (formerly AMC) with over 30 years of service. He was an accomplished concertina player and loved leading his polka band, The Three Dutchmen Plus One, for many years. He also was a longtime member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and enjoyed his quiet time with his model trains. Henry will always be remembered for telling stories about anything to anyone and he loved hearing stories in return.
In addition to his loving wife, Donna, he is survived by his daughters and sons, Ann Lutkus, Henry (Mary) Tambornino IV, Jon Tambornino, Dawn Tambornino, Julie (Fernando) Tenuta; his grandchildren, Robert (Mandy) Stelzer, Tate (Megan) Stelzer, Chrissy (Ryan Dougherty) Wick, Linda (Alan) Leffel, Jennifer (Cole) VanDerLeest Jamie (fiancé, Mitch) Tambornino, Henry Tambornino V, Antonio Tambornino, Samantha (Nate) O'Clare, Erica Bauer, Faith Wirts, Isabella (Jake) Sawalski, and Lukas Tenuta; 17 great grandchildren; his brother, Norbert (Rosemary) Tambornino; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tammy Tambornino, Mary Mitchell, William (Kay) Kissinger, Willard (Sue) Kissinger, and Everett (Kris) Kissinger; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Henry was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan (Raymond) Wellhoner; his brother, Eugene Tambornino; and his son-in-law, Scott Lutkus.
Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Sebastian Catholic Church (3126 95 th Street in Sturtevant) on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, for a visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. The celebration of his life and funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am with Fr. Andrew Swietlik officiating and will conclude with Military Honors. A private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia.
The Tambornino family extends a heartfelt thank you to Hospice House- Hospice Alliance for the care and compassion they provided to Henry and their entire family.
