Hubert Wade

     Hubert “Hub” Wade, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2011, in Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints, with his family at his side. Hub was born in Danville, IL on December 18, 1919 the son of the late Louis Fredrick and Nellie Garnet (nee: Molton) Wade.

     Hub served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corps. On June 20, 1942, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, here in Racine, he married the love of his life Eugenia “Jean” Danoski. She preceded him in death on December 29, 1992. Hub retired, with the rank of Captain, from the Racine Fire Department after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, the City of Racine 20 Year Club, and the Firefighters Local #321. Hub was a master woodworker, designing and building his own home. He also enjoyed building model planes, beekeeping, and gardening.

     Surviving are his daughter, Victoria (Richard) Klofanda, of
Palm Coast, FL; granddaughter, Christine (Larry) McDonald, of Sharpsburg, GA; twin great granddaughters, Madeline and Charlotte Mc Donald; sisters, Geraldine Blaesing, of Farmington, MI, and Carol (Richard) Buhler, of Racine; brother Carl (Maryanne) Wade, also of Racine; sister-in-law, Barbara Wade, of Poplar Bluff, MO; special friend and neighbor, Joyce Braid. His nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive him.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thurman Wade, and sister, Marjorie Hurst.

      His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, October 21st, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial, with full military

honors, will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested memorials to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin or your favorite charity.
