Obituary

Racine – Inez Green, age 84, left this life on Thursday, March 13, 2014.  Inez was born in Stonewall, Mississippi, on April 5, 1929, to the late Jessie and Mary (nee: Portis) Pearson.

Inez was educated in the schools of Mississippi.  On February 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to the late Allen "Sugar" Green in Stonewall, Mississippi.  Allen preceded her in death on January 30, 2000.  They relocated to Wisconsin in 1954.  Inez loved cooking, gardening, and watching the Food Network channels.  She was a stay at home mom and wife.

Inez is survived by her four children: one daughter, Joe Ann Green-Martin, and three sons, Billie H. Green, Johnnie L. Green, and Christopher (Felecia) Green.  She is further survived by her six grandchildren: Vickie, Lori, Michael, Johnnie, Jr., Markeyla, Jason; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Juretha Newman; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Rosie Lee Mack; 3 brothers, Carlton Pearson, Jessie Pearson, Tommy Pearson; and one granddaughter, Dorian Cheyenne Oliver.

A celebration of Inez's life will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014, 11:00am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Fred L. Richmond, Sr. officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 23, 2014, 4:00pm until 6:00pm, and again on Monday from 10:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow services on Monday at West Lawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank her nephew, Lawrence Mack, his wife, Marion Mack, niece, Ms. Geraldine Goines, to let them know how much we appreciate their help and support in our time of need.  A special thanks to her very dear friends, Mary A. McClain, Velma Hardiman, and Zannie B. Martin.  The family would also like to thank the Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints ICU department, Pat and her team, and everyone else that we may have missed who took care of Inez on March 13.  Also, a special thanks to Dr. Niebuhr, Dr. Bader, and Dr. Lopez.
