Racine – Inez Tillman passed away at All Saints Hospital on Monday, July 13, 2009 at the age of 82. She was born in Holmes County, Mississippi on November 22, 1926, daughter of the late John and Mintie (nee: Garland) Patton. Inez, affectionately known by many as “Aunt Inez” because of her genuine care for others, had made her home in Racine for over 50 years. Inez retired from St. Mary’s Hospital, where she had worked for over 25 years. She was a dedicated member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist church for more than five decades where for many years she could be found in Sunday School and the choir. She is survived by her sister, Clara Bowman, Jackson, Mississippi; niece, Mintie Bowman Reed also of Jackson; and nephews, Cleveland Bowman, Jr. , Milwaukee; Howard Bowman, Huntsville, Alabama and Clarence Bowman, Yazoo City, Mississippi. Homegoing services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, with Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby officiating. Visitation and viewing will commence at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at West Grove Cemetery in Lexington, Mississippi.
