Irene McCarthy Racine – Mrs. Irene McCarthy, 83, died at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove on Friday, February 10, 2006. She was born in Racine on January 18, 1923 to Joseph and Alexandria Gill and graduated from Washington Park High School. On May 6, 1965, she married Gerald "Jerry" T. McCarthy. Jerry preceded her in death on March 27, 2000. Irene worked at Rajo Motors for many years before retiring in 1982. She belonged to Our Saviors Lutheran Church. In her earlier years, Irene enjoyed playing Bridge and was an avid golfer. Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Jerry Geiss and granddaughters, Kayla and Kylea Geiss all of Franksville. Irene's brother and sisters, Walter Gill, Olga Gill, Nadja (Robert) Olson and Vacelisa (Gary) Ranous also preceded her in death. The service celebrating Irene's life will be held at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 7:00 pm. There will be a visitation in the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Her entombment will take place in the Graceland Cemetery Garden Crypts on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
