Wautoma – Irene P. Tyler, age 100, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus at Wild Rose Hospital on Thursday, May 12, 2016. She was born in Racine on June 28, 1915, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee: Secanky) Grno. Irene was married on February 9, 1935 at Holy Trinity church in Racine to Charles W.J. Tyler.
Irene was a Racine resident for most of her life, and worked at Western Printing for 27 years until she retired in 1962. Several years after the death of Mr. Tyler in 1985 she decided to move into St. Monica's. She enjoyed living there for 10 years before moving to the Heartland House in Wautoma, where she had such loving compassionate care as a resident in 2001 to 2016. Irene is a former member of St. Edward's Catholic Church.
Irene is survived by her children: Charles P. Tyler of Racine, and Janet (James) Doonan of Hancock; son-in-law Raymond Krall also of Hancock; sister Mary Shaughnessy of Kenosha; brother Joseph (Mary) Grno of Tucker, Georgia; as well as her grandchildren, her special Tami who traveled a long distance to come to every birthday party and many other visits, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Irene was also preceded in death by her daughter Rosemary Krall; sister Emily (and Frank) Kersten; and brother-in-law Richard Shaughnessy.
Complete services will be held In the funeral home on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30. Her funeral service will begin at 11:30 with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officating. Cemetery services will be private.
Memorials to Shepherd's Ministry (1805 15th Ave., Union Grove WI 53182) have been suggested.
