Obituary

KOKOMO, IN (formerly of Racine) – Irish Lee Day, III, was called home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2025.  He passed away at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo, IN.

He was born in Racine on November 1, 1965, to the late Irish Day, Jr. and Nina (nee Earl, Day) Williams.  He graduated from JI Case High School in 1984 and attended Ivy Tech in Kokomo, IN.  Irish married the love of his life, Shonna Greene, in 1988.

Irish worked at InSinkErator and Sykes Construction before moving to Indiana to work for Tyson Foods in Logansport and Chrysler in Kokomo.  He and Shonna have lived in Kokomo for 20 years.

Irish will be remembered as the man, the husband, and the father.  He was proud to be a great provider for his family and loved to work hard and keep busy.  He loved to spoil his children as well as share his life's wisdom.

Irish loved to collect old cars, especially Ford Mustangs.  He was also a man of faith and joined Deliverance Crusaders Church under the leadership of Apostle Howard and Bonnie Fleming.  In addition to his loving wife, Shonna Day, he survived by the seven children he raised, Narkiesha (Thomas) Terry, Tavaris Greene, Dionna Patton, Jonathan Mosley, Jr., Terell Barber, Jamiesha Durr, Donte Brown; a host of grandchildren, and one great grandson; his brothers and sister, Randall Smith, Kenny (Michelle) Day, Billy Williams, Angel (David) Meeks; his step-mother, Mary Day; his aunt (whom he thought of as a sister), Carolyn Day and Jammie McFarland; his uncle, Edward Day; his brothers-in-law, Richard (Marva) Greene and Jeff (Wendy) Greene; as well as many nieces and nephews.   In addition to his mother and father, Irish was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Catherine Earl, and Irish and Jimmie Lee Day, Sr.; his uncle, Bobby Day; his aunt, Aretha Earl; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Johnny and Janie Ruth Greene; and his sister-in-law, Tiffany Greene.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, December 19, 2025, for a visitation from 10:00 am- 11:00 am.   A service celebrating his life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 am.  He will be interred at Graceland Cemetery in Racine.

Service Details

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, December 19, 2025, for a visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.

A service celebrating his life and Homegoing will follow at 11:00 am.  He will be interred at Graceland Cemetery in Racine.
