Service Details

Funeral services will be held at Water of Life Lutheran Church – Racine Campus (2921 Olive Street) on Jackie’s 95th Birthday, Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 10:30 am with Pastor Nathan Klusmeyer officiating. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday (January 24th) from 9:00 – 10:30 am.

Jacqueline Clara Sherwood, age 94 years young, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at St. Monica’s Senior Living on Thursday morning, January 13, 2026.

Jacqueline was born in Calumet, Michigan on January 24, 1931. She came to Racine at a young age and was a graduate of Washington Park High School. On May 3, 1953 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Jackie was united in marriage to Glenn Everett Sherwood, who passed away on May 10, 2013.

Jackie’s main vocation in life was caring for her family and home. After her daughters were grown, Jackie served the children of our community, for many years, as a tireless member of the Mitchell School Lunch Program.

With profound faith, Jackie was a nearly 90-year member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, now known as Water of Life, where she had been active over the years in the choir, Home Guild and Altar Care. Among her interests were bowling at Plaza Lanes, knitting and gardening.

Surviving are her daughters, Lynn (Bob Monfeli) Hanks and Cynthia (Peter) Dreckmann; grandchildren, Amy (Greg) McNutt, Matthew (Tricia) Hanks, Daniel Dreckmann and Ashley (Tim) Elledge; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Alexander, Damian, Delaney, Ellison and Jameson; sister-in-law, Margie Schneider; nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Lydia (nee: Yauch) Youngbauer; husband, Glenn; and brother-in-law, Oscar Schneider.
