Jacquelynn "Jackie" Pfeilstifter, age 87, passed away at Brookside Care Center on Saturday, March 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Reedsburg, WI, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucille (Lange) Kunz.

She graduated from Baraboo High School in 1957 and then received her degree as a Registered Nurse from St Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She started as a labor and delivery nurse and transitioned to many other departments, ending her career in oncology. In the middle of her career, she was on the adolescent floor which coincided with raising her four teenage children. She retired after 40 wonderful years of nursing.

When she wasn't working, Jackie enjoyed being a part of her church, spending time outdoors, and loved every moment with her friends and family. While raising her family, Jackie loved to tent-camp across much of Wisconsin and out West. She was especially fond of Devil's Lake near her hometown and Door County. She would spend hours in the Door County shops, where she loved to find special treasures and jewelry.

Jackie was a strong woman of faith. She was a long-term member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, where she taught CCD and sang in the choir. She later became a member at St. Lucy Catholic Church.

Jackie had a wonderful group of life-long friends. The "Domino group" met regularly where they enjoyed hours of Dominos and chatting. Jackie always talked about how much she enjoyed those moments. She also loved being a member of RING (Retired Involved Nurses Group) and attending the monthly luncheons with many of her fellow retired nurses.

She was a passionate and talented artist. Jackie's skills expand from painting, writing poems and novels, with two of her books being published. Jackie especially loved to paint outdoor scenes and birds. Her family has hundreds of paintings, which are lovingly displayed in each member's homes.

Jackie was the glue to her whole family, who was her pride and joy. With four children, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, there were always sporting, school, or family events she attended. Jackie never missed a special occasion for her family. Each grandchild loved going to Grandma's house, especially finding her "secret" stash of Hershey Kisses. She loved planning and hosting many gatherings, especially all holidays and the annual Pfeilstifter Family Picnic, for over 35 years. A tradition her children will keep alive. She always loved a good game of Euchre at the holiday gatherings.

Jackie is survived by her children, Linda (Rich) Salisbury, Gary (Jackie) Pfeilstifter, Michael (Carol) Pfeilstifter, and Steve (JoEllyn) Pfeilstifter; 11 grandchildren, Jenna (Kraig) Galko, Lauren (Cody) Brunello, Samantha Pfeilstifter, Peggy Pfeilstifter, Ben (Megan) Pfeilstifter, Jonathan (Sarah) Pfeilstifter, Mara (Reed) Yoder, Alexis Pfeilstifter, Joseph (Samantha) Pfeilstifter, Jaden Pfeilstifter, and Bryce Pfeilstifter; 11 great-grandchildren, Valerie and Emmrie Galko, Addison, Dominic and Josie Brunello, Jack, Kate, and Marlena Pfeilstifter, Lincoln and Beckam Pfeilstifter, and Indie Yoder; brother, Robert Kunz, and sister-in-law, Sue Clausen.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the entire Brookside staff, nurses, aides, administrators, and social workers for all their dedication and compassion. You are true angels.

A memorial visitation will take place at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. (Noon). A private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
