James Edward
Ambrose
Sep 17, 1946 — May 6, 2011
Sturtevant – James Edward Ambrose, 64, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. He was born in Racine on September 7, 1946, son of the late Charles and Mary Jane (nee: Peterson) Ambrose. Shortly after graduating from Park High School, Jim proudly served in the US Air Force from 1966-1970. He was married on April 12, 1975 to the former Barbara Gossett.
Jim worked for Eddie's Glass where he was an installation specialist. He also spent many years bartending part time at the DDR Pub. Jim enjoyed sports of all sorts, but kept a special place in his heart for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and watching them play in their activities. He also liked to go boating up north, browsing at the 7-Mile Fair, and making people laugh at all of his jokes. He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog butch.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ambrose of Sturtevant; their children, Carlee Ambrose of Sturtevant, and Corey Kasabian of Racine; grandchildren, Cassandra and Erin Ambrose, Kaitlyn and Ethan Kasabian; sisters, Charlene (Bill) Anderson, Elaine Ambrose, and Debby Ambrose all of Racine; aunt and uncle, Dodie Greene (Gordy) and Donald (Gwendolyn) Peterson; nephews and nieces, Bill Anderson, Warren Anderson, Lindsey Ambrose, Rick Podoba, Raymond Podoba, Nicole Gossett, Renee Stallard, Bobby Heusser, Amy Ghisell, and Christy Heusser; as well as many other relatives and friends.
All are invited to visit with Jim's family in the funeral home on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 1pm – 3pm. Interment and military honors will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Park at 10am on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
