On July 28, 2024, the world lost a true character with the passing of James Peter Soehn, known to many as "Hot Dog Jimmy". Born in Chicago, IL, on January 22, 1962, to Alois and the late Anna (nee Figura) Soehn, Jimmy was a proud, hardworking man who left a lasting impact on all who were lucky enough to know him.

Jimmy, a alumni of Gordon Technical High School, exuded passion for soccer in his youth and was admired for his skills on the field.

Jimmy married his beloved Laura Nizzi on June 14, 1986, at St. Pascal Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. Together, they raised a beautiful family and created countless memories over the years.

A true entrepreneur, Jimmy was renowned as the owner of Jimmy's Hot Dogs and More in Paddock Lake, where he earned his legendary nickname, "Hot Dog", for his mouthwatering creations. Not only a hot dog extraordinaire, Jimmy was a master carpenter, specializing in live edge woodworking, crafting beautiful furniture pieces that adorned his family's homes. He was a highly respected carpenter in his trade and satisfied many home owners over the years with his craftsmanship.

A man of the outdoors, he found solace in fishing and boating, cherishing the simple moments surrounded by nature. Jimmy's knack for finding bargains and his enjoyment of negotiating deals were well known, adding to his endearing personality. His ability to spot value in unexpected places drew him to many and made every interaction a memorable one.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his beloved wife, Laura, his children Matthew (Tiffany), Ashley (Clay), Paige, and Gabrielle, his grandchildren, Mia, the twins Christian and Lane, Nevaeh, Colt. and his devoted father, Alois. He also leaves behind his brothers, John (Carole) and Steven (Elizabeth), and countless friends and loved ones. Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother, Anna.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be private for the family.
