James W. Gedemer, 73, of Racine, passed away at his residence, on Friday, January 26, 2024. He was born in Racine on October 13, 1950, the son of the late Gilbert and Pauline (nee: Gibson) Gedemer.
After graduating from J. I. Case High School, he furthered his education at MATC and UW-Stout. On June 28, 1986, in St. Luke Episcopal Church, he was united in marriage to Marilyn L. Troestler. Jim had been employed by Sears and later was a pattern maker and machinist for Wisconsin Pattern. He was a diehard Cubs fan. Jim enjoyed playing golf, especially at Meadowbrook County Club. He also played baseball and was an accomplished pianist.
Surviving are his wife Marilyn, their two sons, Spencer (Candace) Gedemer, and Alexander (Sofia Kozidis) Gedemer, all of Racine; grandson, Jaxson James Gedemer; sister, Kathy Buehler, of Riverton, UT; two brothers, Paul (Lorraine) Gedemer, of Noblesville, IN, and Thomas (Cheryl) Gedemer, of Racine; and sisters-in-law, Linda Troestler, and Shari Troestler, both of Racine. His nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive him. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, James Troestler, Mike Troestler, and Wayne Buehler.
His funeral service will be held in the funeral home, on Monday, February 5 th at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will be held, the same day, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
