James "Jim" Gordon Wiley, age 82, passed away at home surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, May 21 ^st , 2025.

Jim was born in Utica, New York on December 29, 1942 to the late Gordon and Louise Wiley. He moved to the Midwest in 1961 to join the US Navy where he served as an electrical technician during the Vietnam War. In 1984, he married Noreen "TC" Wiley (nee: McGeean) bringing 4 children into the marriage. Their love was a testament to the beauty of second chances and together they shared a life filled with laughter, loyalty and unwavering support. After 30 years of various supervisory positions, he retired from AT&T in 1992.

There were many sides to Jim that included being a proud Veteran and now a Lifetime Member of the VFW in Ohio. He was a longarm quilter extraordinaire in the Racine area for 20+ years.  Also, he was a member of Mensa International, an avid RV-er for more than 25 years, a very talented lifelong woodworker and he loved attending Packer Games for many years.

He was the best husband anyone could ask for; he was "Dad" to Deborah (Michael) Foley-West Allis, WI, James Wiley Jr (Sachiko)-Littleton, CO, Patricia (Phillip) Turner-Rhinelander, WI and John Wiley (Colleen)-Van Wert, Ohio. He was Grandpa/Papa to Kayla (Jeffrey) and Alyssa (Sylvester) Foley; Katlin (Taylor) Treuer; Justin (Reilly) and AJ Wiley; Tyler (Krissy) Wiley and Sophia Turner. He was a Great Grandfather to Ja'Vonn Nelson and Kenzo Wiley. He was the loving brother to Mary-Lou (Hartley) and Jane, all of New Jersey.  In addition, he was the brother-in-law to Mary Ann (Lou) Antognoli, Jeanne (Martin) Hertz, William (Joan) McGeean and Thomas (Michele) McGeean. He is survived by nieces and nephews throughout the United States.

He was an all-around great guy who valued honesty above all else. He lived by the saying: "If given the opportunity of being right or kind, choose kind!"

Service Details

Services celebrating Jim's life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 4:30PM with Tyler Johnson, AccentCare Hospice Chaplain officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00PM until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove with full military honors.
