Racine – James Allan Urban, 66, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, July 13, 2018. He was born in Racine on February 22, 1952, son of the late Harvey and Geraldine "Gerry" (nee: Krencisz) Urban. After completing high school he served in the US Army and was honorably discharged after several years. He then went on to work for the US Postal Service for the next 33 years.

Jim was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church where he often helped with Friday Fish Fry's and at the annual church festival. He liked to watch Brewer and Packer games on TV, but every weekend was reserved for auto racing. Jim took a yearly trip to Indianapolis to watch the Indy 500 with his brother Mickey and other family members.  It was no surprise that his love of racing came with a love of cars that he would regularly perform mechanic work on.  Jim enjoyed spending Thursday nights at the Eagles Nest; and daily phone calls with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Elizabeth Urban; sisters, Mary (Daniel) Clemente, and Jeri Lynn Urban; niece and nephews, Carrie (Donald) Selusnik, David (Angela) Gramza, and Mark Urban; his former wife, Janet Urban; as well as other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother Michael "Mickey" Urban.

Funeral services will be held at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Avenue) on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:30am with Rev. Javier Guativa officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia.  Visitation will take place in the church on Wednesday evening from 5pm-7pm; and then on Thursday morning from 9:30am – 10:15am.
