Memorial Suggestions

Memorials may be made in Jane’s memory to Racine Montessori School.

Jane (nee: Mancuso) Stein, 73, passed away at Ascension Franklin on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. A lifetime resident of Racine, Jane was born on November 25th, 1950, to the late Salvatore “Gus” and Stephanie “Stevie” Mancuso. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1968. Jane was united in marriage to Randy Stein on September 8th, 1973.

In her earlier years, Jane worked as a Trust Secretary at 1st National Bank and was a devout Catholic involved in St. Lucy’s church. After raising her children, she then went on to have a long career at Kohl’s Department Store, where she enjoyed meeting people and sharing her positive attitude and warm smile. However, her true passion in life was family.

Jane dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting those around her. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of everyone she met. She found her greatest joy in raising her children and grandchildren and caring for her nieces and nephews. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Some of Jane’s favorite memories were made traveling with her family to Lake Sherwood and Walt Disney World.

Jane is survived by her husband Randy; beloved children Anne (Drew) Matson, Jody (Phil) Rigby, and Steve (Pam) Stein, and treasured grandchildren Bailey Rigby and Eddie and Carter Stein. She is also survived by dear brothers Richard (Julie) Mancuso and David (Dona) Mancuso, plus many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention by name. Jane had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel valued and understood, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her legacy of kindness and selflessness will live on through her family and friends.  Jane will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a woman whose life was a testament to the power of love.

A special thank you to the 3rd floor staff of Ascension Franklin. Jane truly appreciated the supportive and compassionate care provided by everyone.

Lived next to Jane in the condos on 90th St. Would look to see if she was sitting in the garage watching her grandsons. They could tell you all about the airlines flying over. Wonderful boys who will have great memories. I’ll miss her deeply. Always told you what was going on. God bless Jane, Randy and the boys. Rest in peace my friend.

Keep your eyes on the boys like you have all their life’s. You certainly will be missed. I’ll look to see if your garage door is open. I’ll toot my horn when I scoot by. Rest in peace my friend.

To the Stein family, Rick and David,
We are so sad to hear this news. ‘Janie’ was always an upbeat and happy person. We all grew up together on the Delaware block as one big family. So many great memories with the Mancuso’s! Janie babysitting us, going up to their cabin, playing in the street, neighborhood Christmas get-togethers…etc. In later years, the Haumersen girls looked forward to going to the mall to see Janie at Kohls. She always had a smile on her face and greeted us with big hugs. You are loved and will be missed.
