Jane H. Sampson, 77, passed away in the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, on Friday, August 16, 2019. Jane was born in Honolulu, HI on November 13, 1941 the daughter of the late Elmer and Esther (nee: Zuideman) Coleman. She was only three weeks old when Pearl Harbor was attacked.

Jane earned multiple degrees in social work, graduating from the University of West Florida and New Hampshire College. She had been employed by the Bridgeway Center, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, the State of Florida Children, Family, and Juvenile Justice Services and the Children's Service Society of Wisconsin. On November 25, 1987, in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Reed A. Sampson. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2018.    Jane was a member of Faithbridge United Methodist Church and a former member of the Kiwanis Club of West Racine. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and traveling.

Surviving are her sisters-in-law, Nancy Coleman, of Port Huron, MI, and Carole (Lance) Kowal, of Spencer, MA; nephews, Bryan (Susan) Coleman, of St. Clair, MI; and Bradley Coleman, of Port Huron, MI: nieces, Kendra (Mark) Brandt, of Rustburg, VA, Ellie (Matt) McGrath, of Leicester, MA, and Sarah (Keith) Rutkiewicz, of Spencer, MA; ten great nieces and nephews, stepson, Bryan (Jessica) Sampson; step-grandson, Grayson Sampson, all of Grand Prairie, TX;  and several cousins. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Coleman.

Service Details

Her memorial service will be held in Faithbridge United Methodist Church, 10402 Northwestern Ave., Franksville, on Friday, August 23 ^rd at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dan Petersen officiating. Visitation will be in the church, on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans  Memorial Cemetery.
