Kenosha – Janet G. Gondek, 63, received the promise of eternal life on Saturday, November 2, 2013.  She was born in Springfield, IL, on March 9, 1950, daughter of the late Clifford and Virginia (nee: Lo Betty) Christensen.

Janet was married on April 8, 1989, to Phillip Gondek, in Kenosha.

Janet graduated from Bradford High School. She was a CNA at Brookside Care Center in Kenosha.  Janet had a love for gardening and enjoyed creating floral arrangements and spending time in her flower gardens.  She liked to take trips to the casino before her health no longer allowed her to do so.  Janet adored her family and treasured her grandchildren.  She was loved dearly and will be missed.

Janet leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of almost 25 years, Phil Gondek of Kenosha; children, Tina (Mike) Waldron of Racine, Darla (Jerry) Martin of Pleasant Prairie, Manny (Nita) Dunn of Kenosha, Donna Bush of Kenosha, Jennifer Gondek of Oak Creek, Joseph Gondek of Racine; grandchildren, Kelly Dunn, Troy Johnson, Mariah Newhouse, Kasey Bush, Michael Waldron, Matthew Waldron, Donovan Scheels, Lauren Scheels, Margaret Scheels; great-grandchildren, Marissa Waldron, Anna Sophia Bush; brother, Chuck (Julie) Christensen of Pleasant Prairie; nieces, Michelle Christensen, Katie (Matt) Lichter, both of Pleasant Prairie; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her brother, Frank Christensen.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, 6:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00pm until the time of the service.  Per Janet's wishes, cremation will follow the services.  Interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Dover at a later date.  The family has suggested memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
