MOUNT PLEASANT – Jean A. Markielewski, 79, passed away at her residence on Saturday, January 4, 2014.

She was born in Hinsdale, Illinois on October 19, 1934 to the now late Willard and Bernice (nee: Howell) Anderson.  In 1951 she married Jerome S. Markielewski.

Jean retired from St. Mary's Hospital as a billing clerk after 30 years of service.  She also volunteered for many years with the Blood Center and Becker-Shoop.  Jean was a very enthusiastic Brewers fan.  She attended countless preseason, regular season and post season games.  She was also a former president of their fan club.  In addition, Jean had a passion for animals and always enjoyed her trips to the zoo; especially to see the tigers.

She is survived by her four loving daughters, Sharon Molina of Racine, Barbara (Randy) Weber of Leroy, MN, Debra (Ed) Jackowski, Linda Markielewski both of Racine; her grandchildren, Heather (Charles) Kotas, Brandon (Jennifer) Molina, Cassandra (Jay) Schumacher, Gabriel (Sharra) Molina, Ricardo Sanchez, Jessie Sanchez, Louis (Jennifer) Sanchez, Rorie (Mark) Steinmetz, Sabrina (fiancé, Kevin Novine) Gonzales, Melissa (Matt) Mooren, Ashlee (fiancé, A.J. Moore) Miller, Stevie Lynn Shephard, Danielle Rooney; 32 great grandchildren; her son-in-law, Steven Batty of California and her sister, Laura Anderson of Milwaukee.  In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Harris; her brother, Willard Anderson; son-in-law, Paul Molina, Jr. and ex-husband, Jerome S. Markielewski.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, January 10, 2014 for a visitation from 5-7pm.  A service celebrating Jean's life will follow at 7:00 p.m.   A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.  Memorials have been suggested to the Racine Zoo or the Racine Theater Guild.
