Mrs. Jean Schneider, 78, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 3, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jean was born in Ireland on June 19, 1948, the daughter of the late William and Sarah (née Howard) Ross. She was educated in Ireland before immigrating to the United States in the early 1970s.
While working at the Kenosha Country Club, Jean met the love of her life, John Schneider. The two were united in marriage on October 20, 1990, at First Presbyterian Church in Galesville, Wisconsin.
Jean devoted many years of her career to bookkeeping for several businesses. Outside of work, she found great joy, tending to her beautiful gardens and caring for animals of all kinds. She especially loved watching the many birds that visited her backyard.
Jean was a proud conservative who never hesitated to express her beliefs. Although, as an Irish citizen and British subject, she was unable to vote in the United States, she remained deeply engaged in current events and took great interest in encouraging family members to exercise their right to vote.
Above all else, Jean cherished her family. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Jean is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, John; her daughter, Renee Speener; her son, Ross (Sara) Hyatt; her cherished grandchildren, Kayla (Travis) Sommers, Annika Speener, John Hyatt, and Savannah Speener; her brother, William (Betty) Ross of Ireland; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Warren and Marlene Schneider; her brothers-in-law, Craig (Cathy) Schneider and Mark (Shannon) Schneider; along with many dear nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her twin brother, Lexi Ross; her brother, Howard Ross; and her sisters, May (Tony) Needham and Bea (Jim) Gibson.
