Sturtevant—Jeffrey A. Romanowski, 67, passed away unexpectedly at his residence and went on to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Jeff was born on August 16, 1943 at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, son of the late Chester and Dolores (nee: Kubek) Romanowski. He married the love of his life, Charlotte (nee: Vandervest), on February 19, 1966 at St. Frederick's Church in Cudahy, WI. Jeff proudly served his Country with the United States Army Reserves. He was employed by Shea Matson Inc., the City of Milwaukee, and Bane Nelson Industrial Contractors – Kenosha, having been a master mechanic, estimator and vice-president. Jeff was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. Jeff was an active member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church – Sturtevant, where he served on the Parish Council, Festival Committee, and Building & Grounds for many years. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and Sprint car racing, all of which he did with his three sons, making many wonderful memories with them. He and his son, Curt, enjoyed being part of the Schmidt Racing Team pit crew. Everyone can rest assured that Jeff took his dry sense of humor with him. Jeff is survived by his wife of 44 years, Charlotte; four children, Allan (Tammylyn), Randy (Lisa), Colleen (John Gorski) and Curtis (Rebecca) Romanowski; four granddaughters, Alisha, Annika, Christina and Lily Elizabeth; sister, Linda Block; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Dolores Romanowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126 – 95 ^th St. in Sturtevant, on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 10:00 am with Fr. Paul Raczynski officiating. A reception will follow. Entombment, with military honors, will be on Tuesday in the chapel of Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, Hwy 32 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 pm and in the church on Tuesday from 9:30-10:00 am.
