Jeffrey Russo

Feb 19, 1955 – Dec 12, 2012

     Jeffrey W. Russo, 57, passed away, peacefully, on Thursday, December 13, 2012, in WFH-All Saints, with his family and friends at his side.  He was born in Racine on February 19, 1955, the son of the late Anthony and Lois (nee: Gehm) Russo.

     Jeff was known as an “icon” on 16thSt. He was often seen, in his wheelchair, on the corner of Quincy Ave. and 16thSt. Jeff’s C.B. handle was “Ironsides”. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Jeff was a model car builder and collector. Jeff enjoyed auto racing (especially the Indianapolis 500) and attending area car shows.

    Surviving are his sister, Marilyn (James) Benson, of Racine, nephews, Robert (Darlene) Benson, of Yorkville, James (Tammy) Benson, of Roseville, IL; great-niece and great-nephews, Jamie, Anthony, Aaron and Jonah Benson. Other relatives, friends, and C.B. buddies also survive him.

      His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 19th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials, in Jeff’s name, can be made to Society’s Asset.
