Jennifer Melissa (Cook) Pettigrew, age 49, peacefully went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI.
Jennifer was born on January 13, 1968, in Taylor, MS. At an early age, Jennifer was baptized and united with North Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Taylor. She was educated in the Lafayette County School System, graduating from Lafayette High School in 1985. After graduating, she relocated to Kentucky and attended Hopkinsville Community College.
Jennifer was employed for several years at the Kentucky State Prison in Eddyville, KY. On December 20, 1985, she was united in marriage to Arnold Pettigrew in Princeston, KY. To this union one child was born.
After relocating to Racine, she was employed with Ridgewood Healthcare Center as a cook. She later worked at CNH until her health began to fail her.
Jennifer leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter, Braeley Pettigrew; Arnold Pettigrew, her grandson, Kayden Pettigrew all of Racine; her grandmother, Audrey Cook, Taylor, MS; Uncles: Robert (Emma) Cook, Tupelo, MS; Darnell Cook and Kenneth Cook, both of Taylor, MS; Aunts: Mary Winston, Kenosha, WI; Minnie Jackson and Sharon Cook, both of Racine, WI; Dorothy Cook, Jackson, MS; Special Great-Uncles, Hervie Martin, J.W. Martin and Bishop Martin; Special Aunt, Annie Gaston, Water Valley, MS; Special Friend, Karla Marzette; Special Cousins, Ira Mitchell-Zackery, Rita Martin, Debra Martin; God children, Phazerian Barker and Jaicidah Barker; Her Kentucky Pettigrew Family and Her Mississippi Winfield Family. She is further survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives and friends too numerous to name.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Selina Atchison; Grandfather, Rodell Cook; Cousin, Dante' Jackson; Aunt, Loretta Agnew.
A celebration of Jennifer's life and homegoing will take place on Monday, August 7, 2017, 11:00am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Please see the funeral home's website for the full obituary once available.
