Obituary

Jennifer R. “Jenny” Skirmuntas, age 42, of Racine, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

A proud graduate of J.I. Case High School in Racine, Jenny was a member of the Class of 2002. Shortly after graduation, she began working at Hardee’s, where she spent approximately 15 years and worked her way up to shift leader. Jenny took great pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and willingness to lend a hand whenever needed. She continued working until her health no longer allowed her to do so.

Jenny had a personality all her own, a wonderful sense of humor, and a heart that was bigger than she probably ever realized. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, could be a little stubborn, and certainly knew how to keep everyone on their toes. She believed birthdays were meant to be celebrated — especially her own — and wasn’t shy about reminding everyone when her special day was approaching. Jenny loved deeply, gave freely, and had a way of making her presence known wherever she went.

Jenny found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching her favorite cooking shows, and trying new recipes in the kitchen. She loved listening to country and rock music, taking walks by the lake, and sitting outside enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of nature. She especially enjoyed spending time with her longtime partner, Jason, whether they were out enjoying the day together or simply relaxing at home.

Although Jenny never had children of her own, she held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, each of whom she loved wholeheartedly. Jenny was also a devoted animal lover. She and Jason adored their dog, Max, and their cat, Lucy, who were more than just pets — they were their babies and meant the world to them.

Jenny will be remembered for her big heart, her unmistakable personality, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

Jennifer is survived by her longtime partner, Jason Sprague; her sisters, Alexis (Cory) Kovacik, Kim (Pat) Hetchler, and Melanie Duberstein; her brothers, Kyle Lawrenz and Roman (Heather) Urbaniak; and her loving stepparents, Larry Urbaniak and Debbie Skirmuntas. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.

Jenny was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Urbaniak; her father, John Skirmuntas; her maternal grandparents, Robert Wieczorek and Eleanore Mischo; and her paternal grandparents, Walter and Julia Skirmuntas.
