Obituary

Jerome "Jerry" De Hahn, 69, passed away unexpectedly, in Aurora-St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, on Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was born in Racine on August 21, 1946, the son of the late Robert and Julia (nee: Czosnek) De Hahn. Jerry graduated from St. Stanislaus School and St. Catherine's High School. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. He had been employed by Racine Hydraulics- Rexnord-Bosch for over 38 years. Jerry was the last one out when they closed the plant and turned out the lights. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Kansasville and the American Legion Post 171 in Union Grove, where he served as the financial officer as well as a member of the honor guard. Surviving are his brothers and sisters, Robert De Hahn, of Jacksonville, FL, Raymond De Hahn, of Racine, Carol (Don) Larson, of Columbus, OH, Patricia (Richard) Groothius, of St. Charles, MO, and Mary (David) Desotell, of Racine; brother-in-law, Phil Strazzinski; and sister-in-law, Janice De Hahn, both of Racine. His fourteen nieces, fifteen nephews, other relatives, American Legion family, and friends also survive him.  In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Richard De Hahn, sister, Barbara Strazzinski, and sister-in-law Diana De Hahn. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Mary Catholic Church, 23211 Church Rd., Kansasville, on Thursday, December 17th, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Robert Kacalo officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorials to the American Legion Post 171 in Union Grove.
