Jerry Beere

vet
Sep 17, 1926 – Apr 15, 2015

RACINE  – Age 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.  He was born on September 17, 1926 in Racine to Frank Conrad and Elizabeth (nee Giannoni) Beere.  Predeceased in 2010 by his beloved wife Patricia Hazel Skow.  They celebrated over 60 years of marriage.  Jerry was also preceded by great granddaughter Madeline Beere, great grandson Jonathan Beere, his brother, Brother Thomas Moore (Edward Beere) and son in law James Polczynski.

Truly a family man, Jerry was a loving husband, an adored father, grandpa, great grandpa/ Big Pa, brother, and uncle. His nickname “Bud” says it all.

He had an incredible work ethic from a young age, inspired and educated by his father in the home workshop. He held various neighborhood jobs early on, making a name for himself. Jerry entered the United States Army in 1945, proudly serving his country in World War II.  He then began his tool and die career at Oster Manufacturing Company at #1 Main Street where he, at a young age, skillfully supervised the second floor. He then advanced to tool room foreman at Hamilton Beach.  In 1965 he cofounded Pioneer Products, becoming President and Chairman of the Board, and retiring at age 82. He was an esteemed Racine business man.

Through his incredible story-telling, he would both teach and entertain. He had a true gift for inspiring others to reach their fullest potential, with the most thought-provoking advice. Until the end, his understanding of the big picture simplified even the most complex topics, including the stock market, the economy, and each of our lives.

Jerry is survived by his son James Beere and Kathleen (nee Orban) and his daughter Joan Polczynski.  His grandchildren Elizabeth (Dan Hogan) Beere, Jonathan (Jennifer) Beere, Andrew (Caroline) Beere, Christian (Monica) Beere, David Polczynski, Ellen (Kevin) Galezewski.  His brother Richard Beere survives him along with other relatives.   Further survived by his Great Grandchildren: Cali Beere, Caitlin Beere, Abigail Hogan, Benjamin Beere, Nicholas Hogan, Rebekah Beere, Alexandria Beere, Megan Hogan, Samuel Beere, Brooklyn Beere, Nolan Galezewski, and Juliet Beere.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Edward Catholic Parish (15th St. and Grove Ave.) on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 for a visitation from 10-11:30 a.m.  The celebration of his life and funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating.  A private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum.  Memorials have been suggested to St. Edward Parish.

Our family would like to thank the Racine Fire Dept EMT’s, the doctors (especially Dr. Gullberg), Jerry’s wonderful neighbors, and all of those who have spent time with him over the years.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Dear Bob,
I just wanted to thank you again for all your help and everything you did for my grandfather’s funeral. Looking back on it, I think Gramps would have been so proud of how everything turned out and it would not have been possible without your help. Your staff is amazing and has allowed us the grieve without worrying about the little details of everything that goes into making the arrangements and planning the services. You helped us honor one of the most amazing men in my life, and it meant so much to me personally and to my family. Thank you for everything.
Take care,
Jessie Tuttle
