Racine – Joan E. Denman passed away on October 14, 2015.  Joan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 20, 1931.  She attended Auer Avenue School, Peckham Junior High and graduated from Custer High School.

She resided in Racine most of her adult life.  She was preceded in death by her father, Arendt Iverson, her mother, Norma McNett, brother, Ron Iverson and husband, Richard H. Denman. As a newcomer to Racine, Joan joined the Racine Newcomers Group where she made many friends.  Eventually she became their President.  She also served as the President of her Golf League.

Joan's life was dedicated to her children, Cindy Bettine (Michael), Mark Denman and Michele Denman and her grandchildren, Matthew Bettine, Aiden Bettine and Taylor Denman.

Joan's life was full of love for music and she shared that passion with everyone she encountered.  She sang professionally for many years and also volunteered her singing talent to Cardiac Capers, Racine Beauty Pageants and The Festival of Trees. She also sang in nursing homes in Racine and Kenosha.  For those who had the opportunity to hear Joan sing, it was clear she was an amazing Jazz Vocalist.

Joan is gone, but the music lives on.  She will always be in the hearts of those who loved her and will always be remembered "As Time Goes By."

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22, 2015 for a time to meet with her family from 4-6 p.m. A service celebrating and remembering Joan's life will follow at 6:00 p.m.   A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.
