Obituary

Racine – Joann H. Moran, 53, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 28, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on April 27, 1954, the daughter of David and Jeanette (nee: Kaser) Moran. Joann was a lifelong Racine resident, and attended Hansche Elementary School, Starbuck Jr. High School and graduated from Case High School, class of 1972. Joanne was employed by G.A.C. International LLC, last working in October 2007. She enjoyed her career and co-workers and continued to contribute throughout her illness. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed competing with her teammates in several Racine area leagues. She was involved with the Girl Scouts for many years. Most of all she loved sharing and giving her time to her family and friends, especially her many nieces, nephews, and god children. Joann loved and adored spending time with Tanner, her German Shepherd. She was loved and respected by all who had the opportunity to know her. She is survived by her mother, Jeanette Moran of Sturtevant; her sister, Susie (Curtis) Chapman of Coffeyville, Kansas; her brothers, James Moran and Jerry (Lori) Moran all of Racine; her cousin Patricia (George) Francis, many nieces and nephews, godchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and extended families. Her father, David Moran, preceded her in death. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. All of Joann's Family and Friends are invited to visit with the Moran family in the funeral home on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. Memorials to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the American Cancer Society have been suggested. On behalf of Joann and her family, many and compassionate thanks are extended to Dr. Douglas E. Puffer, his staff, and all of the great medical staff that provided the sincere and compassionate care for Joann during her illness and many long hospitalization.
