Obituary

With profound sadness, I announce the passing of our dear sister, Jody Ellen Zengota, on December 19, 2025. A lifetime Racine resident, Jody was born on June 29, 1963, daughter of the late Stephen and Kathy Zengota (nee Schiller).

Jody was their eldest daughter. Jody was a fighter. She survived a major motorcycle accident just after high school, but that didn't stop her. Her strength came from her dedication to God, and as an enthusiastic member of Alcohol Anonymous. With the church and AA on her side, Jody found purpose, and it is where she was truly inspiring. Jody was a supporter, a sponsor, and a beacon of hope for all who knew her by giving what she could to people who needed her help.

She is survived by younger sisters Kari (Steve) Hakker of Hurricane, UT, Jamie Zengota of Waterford, WI, cousins David, Danny, and Darren Schiller, and all the members of her congregation and AA brothers and sisters. Jody's spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Edward's Catholic Church (1401 Grove Ave. in Racine, WI) on Friday, January 9, 2026. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. / with a Catholic Mass beginning at 3:30 pm. Refreshments to follow. Private interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
