John H. Blank, 56, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor on June 26, 2006. John was born in Mauston on January 10, 1950, to the late Gerald Martin and Phyllis Patricia (nee: Mahoney) Blank. He was a 1968 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha. John proudly served our Country with the Army-National Guard from 1970 until1976. In Kenosha, on September 16, 1972, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jacqueline Marie Becker. While in high school, John began working for the McDonald's Corp. in 1966, becoming a manager until leaving in 1984. He owned and operated Nord T.V. and Video Outlet from 1985 until 1989 and Ron's Carryout and Delivery from 1989-2001. For the past several years, John has been employed as a troubleshooter/repairman for Bombardier Recreational Products. For many years, John had attended St. Sebastian Parish in Sturtevant. He was a proud member of Loyal Order of Moose #286-Kenosha, AARP and the NRA. An outdoors enthusiast, John was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially Up-North in the Townsend-Wabeno area. He, and Jackie, were members of several couples bowling leagues over the years. Above all, John was a devoted family man who always placed the needs of others before his own. Surviving are his loving wife, Jackie; son, Adam; daughters, Amanda and Ashley; grandchildren, Brianna, Taylor and Gordon; sisters, Sandra LaLonde and Patricia (Norbert) Pacholski; mother-in-law, Kathleen Becker; sisters-in-law, Martha (Joe) Domanik, Marcella 'Marcie' Damaschke and Karen (Harry) Fischer; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John 'Jack' Becker. In accordance with John's wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of John's life, including Loyal Order of Moose-Broken Circle, will be in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Sunday, November 12, 2006, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Nathan Misirian, of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 12 until 2 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the National Brain Tumor Foundation or to the American Cancer Society have been suggested. A special note of thanks to Dr. Pulla and her staff; and to all of our friends, neighbors and co-workers for the comfort and support that was given to our family during these past difficult months.
