In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating blood or registering as an organ donor to help give others a chance at life. The family is beyond grateful to the donors who gave John that chance.

John Hartman, age 34, of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, passed away on March 16, 2026. Born on September 12,1991, John lived a life defined by love, laughter, and the people closest to him. Above all else, John dedicated his life to making his fiancé, Kristie Krogman, happy. Their life together was filled with humor, adventure, and a deep love that was evident to everyone who knew them.
John was a proud “fur papa” to Koda and Kalvin, who were never far from his side. Whether it was taking them for walks, attempting a new trick, or settling in for a good snuggle, they brought him endless joy.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Cathy Hartman; his brother, Michael Hartman; his father, Jim Hartman; and by many family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know him. John was especially proud to be the “fun uncle” to his two nephews. He never missed their sporting events and made sure to be present for every holiday and family gathering.
John was an avid sports fan and rarely missed a game when it came to Marquette basketball, Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers, or Milwaukee Brewers. He loved cheering on his teams almost as much as he loved spending time with family. When he wasn’t watching a game, John enjoyed cooking for others, playing piano & guitar, playing video games, reading a good book, and simply enjoying life’s quieter moments with the people he loved most.
He was also especially proud of his work with ATC Transportation. Talked highly of his incredible colleagues and all of the contributions he was able to make with the company.
Those who knew John will remember him for his kindness, intelligence, humor, talent, selflessness, adventurous spirit, and the right amount of sarcasm at the perfect moment. He had a way of making people laugh, feel welcome, and feel loved. His presence was not overlooked when he came into a room and had some of the best one-liners one could imagine.
John struggled with health issues most of his life but you never saw it on his face. He always wanted others to be in the moment and not have to worry about himself. His love for others was always put before his own needs.
John now rests in God’s peace and comfort; and is with his older brother David- surely cracking jokes and looking down on all of us.
John will be deeply missed and forever loved.

John he will always love you and remember your beautiful heart and sweet smile. We all are better people because of you. There is a saying, the pain of loss reflects how deeply our hearts have loved. John you are loved. 💞 now you’re with Jesus and no more pain just love.
Danny Waldman says
Johnny H,
I’ll never forget the times we had—Lifting, cruising around in Greg’s mini van to get T-Bell or McDonald’s, gaming COD and Mario, playing music, and playing basketball in the driveway.
You were funny as hell and always made everything better just by being there. I’m really going to miss you man
Tami Sweeney says
Cathy and family I am holding you in my thoughts and sending you so much love during this incredibly difficult time. What a bright light John was, so wonderful to read about how beautifully he lived his life. What an incredibly painful loss, the world was truly blessed to have John in it.
Sawyer Veseth says
John, you were such a bright light and I will always cherish memories with you. I remember playing tic tac toe with you in 8th grade, you always won. I cherished memories of playing pickup basketball with you. You were the first person who showed me the song Thunderstruck when you played it on electric guitar. Can never forget the countless movie nights in middle school or our high school carpool. You could make a bunch of people laugh with ease. I loved your comedy.
I have fond memories of working with you at The Town Club, riding bikes around fox point, and seeing you at lunch every day in High School. Rest in Peace my brother. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of many.
