Mt. Pleasant – John Mitchell "Jack" Jacobs, 87, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was born in Highland Park, Illinois on March 9, 1929, son of the late Joseph and Elise (nee: Laurdeson) Jacobs. Jack was married in Kenosha to Lillian Heidersdorf on July 23, 1949. She preceded him in death on December 31, 1996.

Jack began working at Nash in 1953, and retired 33 years later from AMC/Chrysler in 1986. He enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was visiting his daughter in Arizona (and adventures to places they should not have been), or going up north with the family to fish, and sit around the campfire to chat.

Jack is survived by his children: John (Nancy Widmar) Jacobs of Kenosha, Clyde Jacobs, Connie (Peter) Jensen both of Mt. Pleasant, Kimberlee (Jim) Jacobs-Hopkins of Green Valley, Arizona, and Todd (Cindy) Jacobs of Racine. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Diane Marie Jacobs; and sister Jill (Derell) Smith.

Public visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 11am to 2pm immediately followed by the funeral services with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Final committal services will take place on Monday morning at 10am in the chapel at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
