John Louis Meissner, age 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Ascension All Saints Hospital, Racine on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

John was born in Racine to Joseph and Margaret (nee: Nahalka) Meissner. At an early age, his family moved to Kenosha. John graduated from Bradford High School in Kenosha, attended UW-Whitewater for a few years, then went to faithfully serve our country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. John would continue his military service in the Army Reserves. John was employed by SC Johnson Wax for over 30 years and met Carol Hultman, and they became husband and wife on May 17, 1969. John was an avid fan of the Marquette (Warriors) Golden Eagles. He was a season ticket holder for over 50 years and was honored as Season Ticket Holder of the Game on Saturday, November 16, 2013. He loved being on the golf course and for many years was part of the MEWS Boys golf team with his buddies from SCJ. John lived out his life dream when he attended The Masters at Augusta. In his younger days, John coached his son in little league baseball and basketball. As the years went on, he would be a regular at his grandchildren's sporting events. John and Carol enjoyed bowling together and spending their winters in Florida. For their 50 ^th Anniversary, they visited the Grand Canyon and Sedona. John will be remembered for his infectious laugh and the genuine friendships he had with so many people.

Surviving are his wife, Carol; daughter, Lori (Greg) Branch; son, John Meissner (Heather Tercher); grandchildren, Amanda and Brooke Branch; Brady (Faith DeWees), Siena and Kendall Meissner; brother, Robert Meissner (Doris Permenter); several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret; Carol's parents, Robert and Genevive Hultman; 3 brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Service Details

Services celebrating John's life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 12:00PM with Pastor Richard Rogers officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of service. Private interment with full military honors will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
