Racine – John Michael Punak, 25, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 as a result of a tragic traffic accident in Kenosha. He was born in Kenosha on June 15, 1988, the son of John and Sheryl (nee: Thoen) Punak.

John will be remembered by his family for his infectious smile, sense of humor, and for the way he loved playing practical jokes on everyone. He excelled in basketball and baseball, and enjoyed watching the Brewers and the Packers. John also enjoyed drag racing and drawing. He was kind and helpful, and always attentive to the needs of those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all.

John is survived by his parents, John and Sheryl Punak; sisters: Jennifer (Paul) Bergman and Rachael (Jason) Seils; brothers; Andrew Punak and Jason Punak; grandparents: John Punak, Hedy Punak, Tyrone and Karen Thoen; nephews: Landen Bergman and Jaxon Seils; aunts and uncles: Debbie (David) Annear, Randy (Carol) Thoen, Richard Punak, and Terry Punak; cousins: Joshua, Tim, and Dan Annear, Adam, Kelsey, and Kaitlyn Thoen; as well as his girlfriend, Hannah Hoyt, and her son, Noah.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 4pm-7pm.  Funeral services will then be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the John M. Punak Memorial Fund can be made at any Educator's Credit Union location.
