YORKVILLE – Mr. John Zuberbuehler, 72, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Mount Pleasant on Friday, June 5, 2026.

He was born in Munich, Germany on May 14, 1954, the son of the late Ernest and Hildegard (nee Schachtner) Zuberbuehler.  His father met his mother while stationed in Germany with the US Army.   However, John was raised in the United States and graduated from JI Case High School in 1973.

He married Elizabeth Duell at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Racine on October 11, 1975.

John enjoyed "tinkering" around his house.  In his earlier years, he always looked forward to deer hunting trips with his father and brothers. He was the happiest in the company of his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Liz, he is survived by his daughters, Jami (Nathan) Michalski, Amanda (Juan) Gomez; his grandchildren, Summer (Trevor), Sampson, Savannah, Maribel, Sydney, Briella, and Juan, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Brandon, Tapanga, and Quinn; his brother, Tony (Meredith) Zuberbuehler; his mother-in-law, Verona Duell; sisters-in-law, Lena, Lisa, Virginia, Phil, and Cherie; as well as many nieces and nephews.

John was also preceded in death by his son, Zeth Zuberbuehler; his brother, Ernie Zuberbuehler; his sister, Monica Zuberbuehler; and his father-in-law, Cecil Duell.

Per John's wishes, a private family service will take place.
