Lendabarker, Jr.
Sep 10, 1945 — Feb 9, 2007
Sturtevant- Joseph Henry Lendabarker, Jr., 61, passed away unexpectedly at work, as the result of a heart attack, on Friday, February 9, 2007. Joe was born in Hammond, Indiana on September 10, 1945 to the late Joseph Henry and Lucille (nee: Stover) Lendabarker, Sr. Living in various cities throughout his lifetime, he has been a Racine resident since 1986. While attending Ft. Atkinson High School, he met the love of his life, Barbara Kay Calhoun. Graduating in 1963, the high school sweethearts were united in marriage on March 6, 1965 in Ft. Atkinson. An accomplished metal artist, he recently sold his business, RTS Metal Werks in Racine. With plans of continuing to pursue his passion for metal art, Joe had just founded Art Metal Werks, LLC. He had a profound and tireless work ethic. Joe always wanted "the best" for everyone in his life and "nothing" for himself. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed being in the outdoors. Joe had been a member of the Wisconsin Sportsmen Association and had a great appreciation for fishing. Above all, he loved being in the surroundings of his entire family. Surviving are his loving wife of over 41 years, Barb; their son, Joseph Henry (Cindy Dostal) Lendabarker III of Iron River, WI; sister, Jody (David) Fish of Pickens, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Donna (Glen) Boyer of Hesperia, CA; Doris Johnson, Janice Bauer and Judy Lindl, all of Ft. Atkinson; and by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert Allen Lendabarker, who died at age 21 in a tragic motorcycle accident on May 17, 1990; and by brothers, Donald and Ronald Lendabarker. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 9-11 am.
