MOUNT PLEASANT – Mr. Joseph T. Reesman, Jr., 91, passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 4, 2021.

He was born in Waterford on June 10, 1929, the son of the late Joseph Theodore and Ida (nee Terry) Reesman, Sr.  On April 7, 1951 he married Elaine Miskinis at St. Mary's Church in Racine.

Joe proudly served his nation with US Air Force, Air National Guard, 128 ^th Division during the Korean War. After the service he started his career as a butcher and was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union.   He worked many years for Kohl's Grocery Store in Racine and later Rupena's Fine Foods in West Allis.

Joe was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church.  He was a founding member of the Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department Station 2 and enjoyed volunteering for the Skill Bank for Seniors.

In addition to his loving wife Elaine, Joe is survived by his children, Barb (Bob) Helbling of Burlington, Sharon (Michael) Drasen of Racine, Judy (Michael) Barrera of Kansasville, Pat (Bruce) Moore of Mauston, Sue (Peter) Gosbee of Mount Pleasant, Sally (Bill) Hansen of Greensboro, NC, Peggy Fergus of Caledonia, Joseph (Denise) Reesman, III of Sturtevant and Edward (Cindy) Reesman of Sioux Falls, SD; his 25 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; his sisters and brother, Carole (Larry) Simmert, Jim Reesman, and Barb Janecky; sister-in-law, Joanne Reesman; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Megan Barrera; his son-in-law, Mickey Barker; his siblings, Frances Gryczkowski, Vern Reesman, Mae Eisenbart, Jake Reesman, and his in-laws, George and Johanna Miskinis.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave) on Thursday, February 11, 2021 for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.   The celebration of his life and funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Vathappallil officiating.   His interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum following the Mass.
