vet
Dec 3, 1946 – May 17, 2016

Union Grove – Joseph E. Squires, age 69, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

Joseph was born in Kenosha on December 3, 1946 to Vern and Elsie (nee: Frederich) Squires. He attended Washington Park High School before going on to serve our country with the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Joe was employed by Case, Service Master and Walmart. Among his interests, he enjoyed camping, fishing, computers and had a great appreciation for wildlife – especially birds.

Surviving are his son, Calvin (Nicole) Schultz of Columbus, WI; mom, Elsie Squires of Racine; sister, Audrey (Jack) Fedor of Racine; brother, Richard (Leah) Squires of Monument, CO; other dear relatives and friends – including his faithful chinchilla, Roo. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Vern Squires.

A chapel committal service, with military honors, will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street in Union Grove, with Rev. Randal A. Poppe officiating.

A special note of thanks to Dr. Ryan Engel and the staff of Wheaton Franciscan Cancer Center for the compassionate care and support given in Joseph’s time of need.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Many thanks to Bob and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf. This has been the hardest of times in my families lives and you were very attentive and helpful with all that needed to be done. The tribute that you created for my mother was beautiful and I shall not forget it. God bless all of you.
