RACINE – Mrs. Josephine B. Quadraccia, 98, passed away peacefully at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.
A lifelong resident of Racine, she was born on April 24, 1916 (the same day as her future husband, delivered by the same mid-wife) the daughter of Nicholas and Mary (nee: Palatino) Recupero. She graduated from Washington Park High School, class of 1935. On October 4, 1941, she married Frank Joseph Quadraccia at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2005.
Mrs. Quadraccia worked in bookkeeping for over 27 years with Grant Furniture and Mrazek Carpet. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church; was an avid reader; enjoyed needlework, crocheting, sewing and will always be remembered for her delicious meals. She was happiest however when she was in the presence of her family; especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Albert Quadraccia and Judith (Allen) Walek both of Racine; her grandchildren, Juliana (Mark) Campbell of New Lisbon, Nicholas (Shelby) Quadraccia of Racine, Joseph (Beth) Quadraccia of San Francisco, Kelly (David) Young of Racine; her great grandchildren, Amanda Tabbert, Cassity Quadraccia, Cody Quadraccia, Cole Tabbert, Madison Quadraccia, Mason Young, Mia Young; her great-great grandchildren, Kaydence Josephine Bohlman and Izzabella Marie Tabbert; her sister, Rose Kujellis;sister-in-law, Shirley Recupero; as well as many dear nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara; her daughter-in-law, Jean Quadraccia; her granddaughter, Laura Susan Walek; great grandson, Justin Tabbert; her brother, Tony Recupero and sisters, Lena Nuciforo, Angeline, Nellie and Ann Recupero.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church on (3101 Drexel Ave.) on Saturday, March 14, 2015 for a visitation to meet with her family from 10:30-11:30 am. The celebration of her life and funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. A private interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery Garden Crypts. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to St. Lucy Catholic Church.
