Josephine Ann (née Cottonaro) Johnson, 95, passed away peacefully on August 9th, 2026.

Born in Milwaukee, WI on January 1, 1931, she was a first-generation American born to Sicilian immigrants Antonio and Maria (née Maglio) Cottonaro. Josephine married Wayne Johnson Sr. on May 10, 1950. Together they lived and raised seven children in Racine, WI.

Surviving are her loving children; Gloria (Kurtis) Kwapil, Wayne (Bonnie) Johnson, Gerald Johnson, Roxanne (Bob "Brad") Bradley, Darrell (Julie) Johnson and Patty Johnson; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband; son, Robert Allen Johnson; daughter-in-law, Mary Candice Johnson; daughter-in-law, Maria Carmelita Johnson; grandson, Johnny James Johnson; sister, Lucille Brown; brothers and sisters-in- law, Mike Cottonaro, Sam (Joan) Cottonaro, Charlie (Adeline) Sciano and Tony (Elsa) Sciano.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 27 ^th , at 11:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Fr. Timothy Sanchez officiating. Interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be in St. Lucy Church on Thursday, August 27 ^th , from 9-11 am.
