Judith
Rognerud
Aug 16, 1948 — Jul 30, 2014
Racine- Judith Anne Rognerud, age 65, passed away peacefully at Hospice Alliance – Racine Hospice House, surrounded with love of family, on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Judy was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on August 16, 1948 to the late Mark and Jane (nee: Stone) Mulholland. She graduated from Norton High School and went on to earn a degree from Westbrook College in Portland, Maine. At that time, Judy met a young man, Allen Lewis Rognerud, who was serving his country with the United States Army on the East Coast. They were married in California on April 23, 1969 and moved to Al's hometown of Racine, WI in 1972.
With great pride, Judy's lifetime vocation was being a full-time wife, mother and grandmother. However, she also did work for Aramark in the cafeteria at S.C. Johnson Wax. Among her interests, Judy enjoyed gardening, crafts and had an extensive collection of "snowmen". Above all, she was passionate for spending every available moment with family – especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, Al; their children, Amy (Steve) Chernouski, Farrell Fisher and Brett Rognerud; adored grandchildren, Andrew, Joshua and Alexis "Lexi" Chernouski; Angela and Christina Garcia; brother, John Mulholland; special sister-in-law, Julie Rognerud; nieces and nephews, Melissa and Matthew (Nichole) Rognerud; John Henry and Laura Mulholland; other dear relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by Al's parents, Lewis and Jean Rognerud; brother-in-law, Claude Rognerud; and sister-in-law, Joellen Rognerud.
A memorial service will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 6:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 4-6 pm. In accordance with Judy's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane, Kelly Konesko, N.P and everyone at Aurora Cancer Center; and to the entire staffs of Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints and Hospice Alliance for the compassionate care and wonderful support given in Judy's time of need. Your kindness and generosity will always be remembered!
