Eulogy for My Mom, Judy Chiaravalloti.

Today we gather to honor the life of the most amazing woman I have ever known—my mother, Judy. To me, she wasn’t just my mom; she was my best friend, my teacher, and the heart of our family. She was a woman of wisdom—never shy about sharing her opinion but always doing so with grace. Our family was blessed beyond measure to have been raised by someone so loving, so strong, and so full of life.

Mom loved each of us in her own special way. She never judged us for the choices we made, even when they weren’t the right ones. Instead, she stood by us, gently guiding us back in the right direction, letting us grow into who we were meant to be. That was one of the things I treasured most about her—her patience, her understanding, and her faith in us. She supported us without hesitation and believed in us without condition.

When I became a mother myself, Mom was right beside me. She was the one who gave me guidance, comfort, and confidence. She adored Tyler from the moment he arrived. She planned little photo shoots, dressed him in the cutest outfits, and made everyday moments unforgettable. I will never forget walking into the house and seeing my dad, Jimbo, and my brother, James, bent over Tyler’s bassinet reading to him—while Mom, our sweet “Mimi,” quietly snapped photos so I could witness the love in that room. That moment was just one of a thousand gifts she gave me—moments filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine family love.

Mom’s house was always a home—full of kindness, laughter, and more great poker games than I can count. Somehow the night always ended with me out of chips… until the day my daughter innocently confessed that she always told Mimi what cards I had. And then there was Wheel of Fortune—she could solve the puzzle with one or two letters, leaving us speechless. Until one day Dad whispered “Kristin… she watched this episode earlier.” That was Mom—silly, spunky, full of sass, and always keeping us on our toes.

She had a gift for connecting with people. She could talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime. And while I may have been annoyed by it at times, I came to realize how many lives she touched… how many hearts she lifted… how many people needed her warmth and her words. Her love was her ministry. Her kindness was her legacy. And the way she nurtured, supported, and believed in her family was nothing short of sacred.

We take comfort knowing that Mom is now wrapped in God’s love—reunited with those who went before her, watching over us with that same gentle guidance she gave us here on earth. Though our hearts ache, we know her spirit lives on in every story, every laugh, every memory, and every act of kindness we share. Mom, thank you—for your love, your wisdom, your strength, and your light. Thank you for shaping us into who we are. Thank you for being our blessing. We will miss you every day, but we will carry you with us always.

Until we meet again, we love you.
