Racine – Julia A. Sapp, 97, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, She was born in Dixon, Illinois on November 11, 1915, daughter of the late John and Gertrude (nee: Everts) Coakley.  On November 21, 1932 she was united in marriage to Waltermer J. Sapp in Augusta, Wisconsin. She and Waltermer then raised their family on a farm near Spooner, Wisconsin. Later moving to Eau Claire she owned and operated the Tip Top Café. Following Waltermer's death in 1972, she moved to Kenosha. She retired from Frost Company in 1979. She then worked as a receptionist for Accurate Tax in Kenosha where she retired at age 80.

Julia was an accomplished cook and baker who pleasured in making apple and pumpkin pies for her family and friends. She enjoyed knitting and going to dinner with her family. In her later years she was inseparable from her dogs (affectionately known as "her girls") Dublin and Phoenix. She will be remembered fondly by her family for her spirit, wisdom, and contagious smile.

Julia is survived by her daughters, Barb Lighthizer and Jan Halvorsen; grandchildren, James Lighthizer, Ellen (Norm) Hartlieb, Tamara (Richard) Bujniewicz, Jon (Maureen) Lighthizer, Pam (John) O'Connell, Melanie (Mike) Gentry, and Julie (Bill) Chase; great-grandchildren, Samantha, John, Melissa, Joe, Michael, Daniel, Aaren, Ashley, Eric, Ryann, Jensen, Benjamin, and Emma; sisters, Margaret Neibauer and Doris Johnson; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Waltermer Sapp, grandson Jody Lighthizer; sisters Eleanor Karrow, Gertrude Gilbertson, Marion Soley, and Avis Johnson; and her long-time friend Ronald Sorenson.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30am on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday evening from 5pm-8pm, and Saturday beginning at 9:30am. Memorials to Mooseheart Child City and School; or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children have been suggested.
