Obituary

RACINE – Karin K. LaPlante, 77, passed away at Ascension All Saints on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Racine, she was born on September 22, 1947, the daughter of the late Perry and Frances (nee Grube) Langendorf.  She graduated from St. Catherine's High School in 1965.

She married Lawrence R. LaPlante on December 21, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Karin worked as a telephone operator for AT&T for over 30 years.

She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church where she served on the Ladies Altar Society.  She had a passion for crafts, especially quilting, counted cross stitch, and painting ceramics.   She quilted with a group at Sew and Save as well as at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.  She also made toy baby and Barbie clothing for Toys for Tots.  In addition, she enjoyed spending time in Northern Michigan with her family.

Karin is survived by her husband Larry; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ken LaPlante, Dave (Lisa) LaPlante, Karen (Don) Melton, and Mary LaPlante.  She is further survived by many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  In addition to her parents, Karin was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Verna and Elmer LaPlante; and her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Don (Sherry) LaPlante and Dan LaPlante.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory for a visitation on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.  A memorial service honoring and celebrating her life will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Juan Manuel Camacho officiating.  A private interment will take place.

Service Details

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory for a visitation on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.

A memorial service honoring and celebrating her life will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Juan Manuel Camacho officiating.

A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.
