Family, relatives and friends are invited to attend Karrie’s Celebration of Life at Infusino’s Banquet Hall, 3225 Rapids Drive, Racine, WI 53404 February 15, 2026 from 1pm to 4 pm. Flowers or donations may be brought or delivered to Infusino’s Banquet Hall from 12pm to 4pm on February 15, 2026 as this was her final wish to celebrate her Homegoing.

Karrie Peterson passed away at her home unexpectedly on January 17th, 2026.
Karrie was born in Racine, WI on March 4,1965 to Gail Black and the late John Overturf.
She grew up in Racine and attended Washington Park High School, where she would then go on to work at various Factories and Restaurants throughout her life. Karrie fought her battle with Cervix Cancer and won ringing the bell only two short days prior to her passing, her family couldn’t be prouder of her for beating every obstacle that got in her way the past seven years. She loved her family, and stepped up every time she could, when it came to her helping out where needed regardless of her own health. She will be deeply missed.
Karrie is survived by her mother, Gail Black; sister, Kimberly Gandy; nieces, Joyce Gandy, Jamie Gandy, and Jennifer Wright (Colorado); nephews, Jared Overturf, Christopher Overturf, and Jacob Overturf; special great niece, Aubree Smith; other great niece Abigail Overturf; great nephews, Elliot and Alfred Overturf; special friend/boyfriend, Paul Bressan. She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Cassie Ann Nelson; father, John Overturf; brothers, Kurt and Kevin Overturf; nephew, Joshua Overturf; paternal grandparents, Randolf and Hazel Overturf; maternal grandparents, Henry and Laverne Hegeman; uncles, Henry Jr. and Daniel Hegeman; aunt, Ginger Roberts; and special aunt/godmother, Judith Ryan.
On behalf of Karrie her family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff of Ascension Healthcare, her doctors and nurses throughout her long-term care team needs, her My Choice Team, and her host of friends that helped her navigate through her hardships, we will forever be grateful for each part you played in making sure Karrie was able to sustain a quality of life!
