Racine - Katharina Knoch, 91, received the promise of eternal life on Friday, December 8, 2017. Katharina was born in Pasijan, Yugoslavia on October 29, 1926, the daughter of the late Heinrich and Katharina (nee: Muth) Muschi. In 1941, her family fled to Poland and shortly afterwards to Austria. In 1951, Katharina and her family moved to Canada. On May 16, 1959, she married Heinrich Knoch at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and moved to Racine. Katharina was a devoted wife, mother and oma who loved to cook, bake and take care of her family. She also was a talented seamstress. She worked outside of the home at Eitel’s and Rainfair but also made many outfits and dresses from home. Katharina treasured her family and enjoyed watching her children's and grandchildren's numerous sporting and other activities. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband as they toured locations in Europe, St. Thomas, the United States and Canada. Katharina leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Joe (Bonita) Knoch, Henry (Cindy) Knoch, Fred (Greta) Knoch and John (Laura) Knoch; her grandchildren: Katie (Nick) Poblocki, Krista (Kevin) Brown, Kristopher (Andy Tracy) Knoch, Justin Knoch, Karli Knoch, Brenna Knoch and Kolton Knoch; her great-grandchildren: Chase Poblocki, Lucien Knoch and Kane Brown; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. Katharina was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Heinrich, her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Marian Muschi; and her daughter-in-law DeAnna Knoch. Katharina’s funeral service will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa Street, on Saturday, December 16, 2017. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Her family would also like to thank her special neighbors: Joe, Linda, Tyler and Karysa Dament. Memorials to First Evangelical Lutheran Church have been suggested.
