Racine – Katherine M. Richards, 41, passed away unexpectedly in Waupaca on Sunday, March 16, 2008. She was born in Two Rivers on February 28, 1967, and had been a Racine area resident since 1992. Katherine will be remembered most for her thoughtful and attentive ways, and the manner in which she cared for those she loved. She enjoyed cooking, and decorating the home that she shared with her children and her fiancé, Jeff. Katherine worked alongside Jeff at Ventura Carpentry, where her organizational skills and business sense was a valued asset. She also liked spending lazy weekends at the cabin in Waupaca, boating and just spending time with her children and stepchildren, who meant the world to her, and loved being with her dogs. She is survived by her children, Stefan Ford and Kenzie Ford; and fiancé, Jeff Ventura and his children, Ryan and Dustin all of Racine; her father, Daniel Richards of Two Rivers; brothers, Chris Richards of Honolulu, Hawaii, John Richards, and Dave (Kelly) Richards both of Shawano; grandmother, Clara Post of Shawano; as well as her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded by her mother, Charlotte (nee: Post) Jahnke. Complete funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 12 noon on Saturday, March 22, 2008 with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. All are invited to visit with Katherine's family beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the children have been suggested.
