Kathleen "Kathy" Vandenberg, 73, passed away at Ascension-All Saints on Friday, May 28, 2021. She was born in Racine on May 16, 1948, the daughter of the late Jerome and Catherine (nee: Zeyen) Vandenberg.

Kathy retired after 30 years as a CNA at the Ridgewood Care Center. Known for her quick wit, infectious laugh and generous spirit, Kathy loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a proud and devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews and was a tremendous example for the next generation of her great nieces and nephews. She enjoyed watching movies, solving puzzles and celebrating holiday traditions. She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church.

Kathy is survived by her nephews and nieces: Sean Vandenberg, of Milwaukee, Maureen (Jaysen) Waterstraat, of Greendale, Jennifer Vandenberg, of Milwaukee, and Christopher (Maria) Vandenberg, of Waukesha; cousins: Ramona Parise, Annette Parise, and Joshua Parise, all of Kenosha. She will be dearly missed by her great nephews and nieces Alex, Anna, Grace, Ryan and James. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, John Vandenberg, and sister-in-law , Virginia "Ginny" Vandenberg. She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Service Details

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., on Thursday, June 3rd at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. A private burial service will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials be given to the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin, 10909 W. Greenfield Ave. #201 West Allis, WI 53214.
