Somers- Kathy Marie (nee: Jung) Wiegand, 60, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 27, 2011, following a courageous battle with several illnesses.
Kathy was born in Racine on June 5, 1950 to the late Claude and Carolynn (nee: Meyers) Jung. On July 29, 1967 in Waukegan, IL, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Donald Walter Wiegand.
During her career, Kathy was employed by SC Johnson Wax. She was also the owner /operator of Kathy's Corner Benco Service Station at 1401 75 th Streetin Kenosha, until her failing health forced her to retire. Catholic by faith, Kathy was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church – Kenosha. Among her interests, she enjoyed travelling and camping with Don in their R.V.; spoiling her Boston Terriers, Rocky and Rosie, cat, Yo-Yo; and was Lucille Ball's number one fan! Above all, she loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family.
Surviving are her loving and dedicated husband of nearly 44 years, Don; their children, Brian (Jen) Wiegand and Dawn (Susan Ferreri) Wiegand; grandchildren, Cody (Jessica) Wiegand; Brandon, Hollie, Logan, Maggie and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Chloe; sister, Judy Jung; brother, Freddy Jung; brother-in-law, Clifford (Karen) Wiegand; sister-in-law, Maryann Issacson; devoted aunt and uncle, Lorraine and Milo Langberg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Carolynn Jung; her beloved son, Mark Wiegand; sister, Pat; brothers, Dick and Claude Jr.; and in-laws, Walter and Mary Wiegand.
Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 am – 12 noon.
