Racine – Kelly Thomas Burns, 63, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.  He was born in Racine on August 12, 1950, son of Thomas Edward and Delores "Dorrie" (nee: Mertins) Burns.

Kelly graduated from Park High School in 1969.  He honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Army National Guard following high school.  He was a city bus driver for The Belle Urban System for 35 years until his retirement.

Kelly leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Dorrie Sartick of Racine; sister, Laurie (John) Merlo of Racine; special friends, Dahlia Cordova, Mary Christman; dog, Sadie; and other numerous relatives.  He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Burns; and sister, Barbara J. Oberholtzer.

A celebration of Kelly's life will take place on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, 1:00pm, in the chapel at West Lawn Memorial Park, 9000 Washington Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.
