Mount Pleasant – Kenneth Paul Grams, age 79, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Ken was born in Fond du Lac, WI on May 8, 1943 to Paul and Marion (nee: Weise) Grams. After graduation from high school, Ken entered the military with the National Guard and United States Army. On August 7, 1965 he was united in marriage with Judy Scott in Rockford, IL. Ken spent many years as a building contractor, owning the family business, Grams & Grams Construction. After his retirement in 1996, Ken and Judy lived in Arizona until moving to Mount Pleasant in 2017.
Surviving are his loving wife, Judy; children, Rhonda (Dan) Martin, John (Deanna), and Tiane (Mike) Gee; grandchildren, Eric, Shawn (Chelsea), Emilee (Joshua), Jordan (Stuart), Azariah, Silas (Brianna), Brittini, Tyler (Kassandra), Joshua, Jessica (Dante), Katherine, Travis, and Matthew; great grandchildren, Harper, Easton, Sawyer, Selah, Reyna, Josiah, Elijah, Liam, Emma, Gabriel, Thea, Danny, Hadlei, Corbin, Astoria, and Aurora; brothers and sisters, Richard (Jan), Philip (Millie), Judy, Phyllis (Burt), and Paul (Val); special in-laws, Trudy (Herb), Diana (Roger), Janet (Rick), and Jeff (Nancy); special friend, Bob Mason, who came and sat with Ken each week; many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marion; and his in-laws, Bernard and Grace Henne.
A Memorial Service will be held at Racine Assembly of God, 1325 Airline Road, Racine, on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00AM. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service. There will be an Open House Celebration for Ken at Life Church, 5910 Elevator Road, Roscoe, IL on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 1:00PM – 5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org/donate. Inurnment, with full military honors, will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 1:00PM.
The family would like to thank the many kind workers at Aurora @ Home Hospice. They were a blessing to us in our time of sorrow. They gave great care to Ken. He shared many "Hallelujahs" with them each visit, and in turn, he blessed them.
Ken always said, "he was born to make people laugh."
